Although sadly I never got the chance to meet up with Eileen in Canada so alas only knew her through correspondence and her children and families during visits to both Ireland and the UK. We do remember the many gifts she sent over to us and in particular those Farquharson Crest embroidered towels etc which were just delightful and still cherished to this day. Eileen was just such a good person and generous to all who had the good fortune to know and love her. May she rest in peace having lived a long and blissful life surrounded by a loving family and friends and now greatly missed by all. Harold, Olive & Family, Edinburgh.

So humbled to have had the privilege to walk the walk and talk the talk with you as we picketed for full funding and special education.

Remembering Eileen  and the happy visits we had with her and Don at Ridgewood with fond memories. She was a master at embroidery and sent us and our children and grandchildren many pillow cases  , bath and tea towels with Farquharson crests and family names on them. We will always treasure them. Eileen will be greatly missed . May she rest in peace.  Robin & Marie.  Dublin.

I first met Eileen in 1980 when Peter took me to the family home of his best friend Dave. Peter always felt like one of the family. I admired her directness and how she always made you feel special.

The first time we met Eileen my mother and I was the spring or summer of 1977 before Lorna and Daniel's wedding. I will always remember his warm welcome, his 2 arms wide open to hug us. We were immediately charmed by this endearing woman. Since then, at each of our meetings, she has always been welcoming. He was a person of great kindness towards others, always present and generous.
Today it is no longer the two arms wide open that she deploys but two large wings of an angel who watch over her large family and those she has found where she left.
Sincere condolences to the whole family.

Wonderful memories of Eileen. I taught with her in my first teaching assignment at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Elementary School in West Hill , 1965-1971.

Mom arrives at our place on Canada Day 2017! 
She survived a near-death encounter with the c-difficile infection. Then after a stay at a rehab hospital, she arrives at Bobmar, happy and sharing her love and generously.

Sincere condolences to Eric, Christine and the entire family.  Mrs. Farquharson had been so nice to the Albers family for decades, as teacher and even babysitter to many of cousins. May she rest in peace.


I have so many things to thank Mum for as she taught me so much. Perhaps the biggest thing was how to welcome anyone and everyone who came to my door, no matter how many were already in the house. Everyone must be treated as an honoured guest, and we can always make room for another, find a place to stay and feed them well. I will miss you Mum.

Our visit with both Pam and Eileen.  Quilt a gift from The Catholic Women's League.  Great memory.

Great-Nannie loved her grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren so much, and never forgot any birthday- despite there being so many of us! She always took the time and effort to make something little to let you know she was thinking of you. Some of these little crafts are my children’s favourite, and every time they play with them they think of her. We love you and  will miss you so very much. 

I used to supply teach at St. Martin de Pores School and Eileen was always welcoming and very helpful to me.  One day at lunch time I remember her making this slew of sandwiches in the staffroom.  They were for her own children who were lined up outside the staffroom as they also attended that school.  She was a great  hard-working lady.
