He was born in China in 1937 on the fourth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, or as he would say the Dragon Boat Festival. His own father died when he was at the tender age of eight. He was raised by his grandmother, while his mother worked to support him and his three young sisters.
Fu Lee and Sau Kuen met in Hong Kong through a matchmaker and were soon married. He takes pride in raising their two daughters.
Forced to retire at age 60 due to arthritis in his knees, he cultivated an interest in vegetable gardening. He happily shared his produce with friends year after year, until he suffered a stroke in 2018.
A visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East on Friday May 1, 2026 from 10 AM until 2 PM.
