Dear Daisy,

I was very sorry to hear of the death of your husband, Gordon.  He was a wonderful example of what a man and priest should be.  Among his many services to the church, he was in charge of my old parish church of St. Mary the Virgin and was much appreciated by the small, loyal group in.that declining congregation.

You were one of the nurses who cared for my late aunt, Mrs. Jean Johnston, a delightful lady with a Scottish accent, who died at Runnymede Hospital in the early eighties.  Our family was very thankful for the fine care Aunt Jean received there.

Fr Gord King was a kind soul. I will never forget Gord's kindness and guidance during Margaret Bradbury's funeral. It was a great pleasure talking with him the few times we spoke.

We have such fond memories of Gord through Cursillo and also when he was Interim at All Saints, Collingwood. He was a wonderful, down to earth priest and a great gentleman.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear of Gord's death. He had big influence on me vocationally, which I told him, to his great surprise of course, the last time I saw him, a few years ago. 

Mom would want to share her condolences too.

I want to express my sadness to Daisy and the rest of Gord's family that I have felt upon hearing of his death. As I got to know you both as my neighbours in Guildwood I admired his courage and good humour and the commitment you both had to each other. He was such a good church leader and role model.

Dear Jan and Family,

I remember being in your home when a stranger came to the door. It was a woman from the neighbourhood, and she was in obvious and extreme emotional distress. She did not know your family except that your father wore a clerical collar, and that is why she sought him out. We kids were quickly shooed from the room, and the woman was welcomed in. Your father must have sat with her for more than an hour. This is how I will remember your Dad. Acts of kindness and generosity.
