Doug passed away peacefully at home on February 19th. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Williams) for nearly 71 years and the loving father of Gordon (Daphne) and Ian (Linda). He was the proud grandfather of Samantha (Matt), Adam (Lesley) and Derek and proud great grandfather of Sawyer, Adler and Piper; and predeceased by brother-in-law Lynn (Audrey).
Doug grew up in Peterborough and graduated from Victoria College (U of T) in 1951. He and Carol were married in 1953 and subsequently lived in Toronto, Halifax and Ottawa as Doug pursued a life long career with the Travelers Insurance Co. He enjoyed family time at the Haliburton cottage, fishing, creating stained glass pictures, reading and cruising to many parts of the world. He loved his family and enjoyed many wonderful friendships. He will be missed.
