It is with a very heavy heart that that we must share that Marguerita Coyne (nee Gorman) passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. This was not unexpected as she had been suffering from Alzheimers for many years.
Marguerita was a wonderful daughter to her parents and kind to her siblings, Charles and Anne. She was dedicated to her husband, Brian, and her daughter, Kathleen. She was a fun and kind nana to her granddaughter, Keira until Alzheimers took her spirit away. My mum loved my husband, Pierre, and they shared many laughs over the years.
She also leaves behind her brother, Charles and his wife, Margaret. Along with her nephews Stephen, Ian and Paul and his spouse, Shona. Her sister, Anne, has enjoyed many adventures with my mum.
My mum was a very organized person so it made perfect sense for her to work in an office in Scotland that specialzed in efficiency. When she moved to Canada from Scotland she was a full-time mother who took care of her family and husband, Brian.
Later on, she worked at Marks & Spencer. Lady Coyne (as she was known at Marks & Spencer) was well liked by many. So much so, the students at Marks & Spencer often referred to her as mum. She was dedicated to the church. She could often be found (both in Scotland and Canada) praying at the church for no specific reason other than she just preferred being in the presence of the Lord.
Marguerita was beautiful, intelligent, funny, smart, outgoing, reliable, streetwise, kind and just. She also leaves behind some wonderful friends.
The lessons you have taught us dad and I are etched into our heart / soul. Godspeed and may your journey to join the angels be a swift ride.
