Murdetta Ormsby, at the age of 85, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Toronto, Ontario. She leaves behind her loving husband Fitzie Ormsby of 30+ years. Together they raised four children, Hartley, Holly, Shakiann and Nicolette. Beloved grandma to many children and Aunt to all. Her goddaughters Monique and Jackie will miss her deeply, as well as many others who knew her.
Murdetta was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada over 40 years ago. She was full of life and enjoyed singing, dancing and cooking for her loved ones. For more than 30 years she worked tirelessly as a housekeeper for the Sheraton Hotel to support her family.
She will be forever missed and forever loved. We will remember her in fond memories and keep her near to our hearts!
A visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E, West Hill, ON M8Z 2C4 on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.
