Sandra commenced her work with Scarborough Centre for Healthy communities as a volunteer in 1992 she continued to work with our seniors in the community and was our first trained Personal Support Worker. She worked with our Community In Home Care program under the modified brokered program caring for seniors in their homes, was hired at the Supportive Housing Program in 2000 and when we implemented our Adult Day Centre she joined the team in 2006 where she provided dedicated and compassionate care to our clients right up to Tuesday afternoon. Sandra will be missed by both the staff that worked closely with her and the clients and caregivers at our Adult Day Centre. Sandra had a wonderful outlook on life and this was passed on through the care she provided to others, with warmth and compassion and this added to their quality of life. The staff at the Adult Day Centre that worked with her shared with me that Sandra’s wish was to leave this world peacefully sitting on her comfy chair and I was told her wish was granted.
