Silvia Maria Perez

On August 22, 1961, in Managua, Nicaragua, a beautiful light was born: Silvia María López Hernandez (Silvia M. Perez) On April 8, 2026, she peacefully passed at her home in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Her light has not faded, it now shines brightly in the arms of our Creator.

Silvia was a loving daughter, devoted wife, extraordinary mother, and a cherished aunt. She was a woman of strength, kindness, and unwavering joy, now reunited with her beloved parents, María Catalina Hernández and Carlos Juan.

For over two decades, she faced meningioma cancer with remarkable courage, sustained by her faith and the loving support of her husband, Mauricio. She leaves behind her daughter Silvia Lorena; her sons Carlos and Mauricio Pérez; her children-in-law Sarah, Ariana, and Héctor; and her beloved grandchildren Héctor, Abraham, Gavin, and Dracen.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her siblings Antonio, Cecilia, Aura, Rodrigo, Alejandro, Juan, and Eduardo, as well as by her extended family and many friends. Deeply cherished within the Nicaraguan community, she will be remembered for her delicious cooking, her warm personality, and her generous heart. Many families entrusted her with the care of their children; a reflection of her love and dedication to others. Her beautiful smile and giving spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

From a land of lakes and volcanoes to distant snowy landscapes, she was and will always be deeply loved in our hearts.

An inspiring example to us all, she showed us how to face life with strength and a smile.

El 22 de agosto de 1961, en Managua, Nicaragua, nació una hermosa luz: Silvia María López Hernandez (Silvia M. Pérez). El 8 de abril de 2026, partió en paz en su hogar en Scarborough, Ontario, Canadá. Su luz no se ha apagado, hoy brilla en los brazos de nuestro Creador.

Silvia fue una hija amorosa, esposa devota, madre extraordinaria y tía entrañable. Una mujer de fortaleza, bondad y alegría inquebrantable, ahora reunida con sus queridos padres, María Catalina y Carlos Juan.

Durante más de dos décadas enfrentó el cáncer de meningioma con admirable valentía, sostenida por su fe y el amor de su esposo, Mauricio. Deja a su hijos, Silvia Lorena, Carlos y Mauricio Pérez; a sus hijos políticos Sarah, Ariana y Héctor; y a sus amados nietos Héctor, Abraham, Gavin y Dracen.

Será recordada con profundo amor por sus hermanos Antonio, Cecilia, Aura, Rodrigo, Alejandro, Juan y Eduardo, así como por toda su familia y amigos.

Muy querida dentro de la comunidad nicaragüense, será recordada por su deliciosa cocina, su personalidad cálida y su gran corazón. Muchas familias confiaron en ella para el cuidado de sus hijos, reflejo de su amor y dedicación hacia los demás. Su hermosa sonrisa y espíritu generoso dejaron una huella en todos los que la conocieron.

Desde una tierra de lagos y volcanes hasta la lejanía de los inmensos páramos nevados, fue y seguirá siendo amada dentro de nuestros corazones.

Un ejemplo, nos enseñó a enfrentar la vida con fortaleza y una sonrisa.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave East, West Hill, ON M1E2S2, CA, on April 21, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
