Auntie Stella,

As you said at my wedding, “I have always been so happy (for you) that even though I’m just your aunt in-law you have always called me Aunt”. I have never realized this but; I’ve always known that you have all the time considered me your nephew.

During many driving trips over the years, from Toronto to Ottawa I always looked forward to seeing you on Friday night. Yes then, mainly for the food you would have waiting for us after our drive :-). You were kind, strong, thoughtful and patient. And the time I came up to Ottawa with my wife Doreen and kids Tevin and Alexia you were memorable, warm and affectionate with them, which they will never forget.

Thank you for all, you have stayed with us as long as you can, and now, may you rest in peace.

Aunt Stella,
As I recall my time with you, more that 40 years ago I reflect on the holiday dad (Ralph Russell) and I spent at your home with you, Uncle Sonny and Claudette, and also Christine. How wonderful and warm you always were, the laughs we all shared with whatever we were doing. The trips to the swimming pool in Ottawa close to your then apartment. All these thing left lasting memories in my young life that helped ground me. You were down to earth , no fluff, honest, hard working, sincere, and humorous. I especially recall the time just before I had to return home to Trinidad, when you took a look at me and said Jenny let me press your hair so your mom could see how well I took care of you. To which we laughed and between doing your housework you made the time to get me all pressed and ready to return home.

You will be remembered.. Rest In Peace.
