GRANT, Sylvia - Born in Gimli, Manitoba, on June 15, 1924, Sylvia passed away in her 89th year with family by her side on March 12, 2013 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Predeceased by her beloved husband Reg Grant. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Loving mother of Edward (Patricia) and Janice (Michael). Dear grandmother of Reg (Natalie), Robyn (Aaron), Kyle (Lauren), Michael Jr. and David. Proud great-grandmother of Ellie, Ava, McKenna, Cameron and Griffin. Will be sadly missed by loving sister Rita, brother Irvin (Gilda), cousin Pearl and many wonderful friends. Sylvia's first priority was always her family. She was a strong advocate on behalf of those whom she loved and for things that she believed in. Sylvia was a founding and devoted member of Iondale Heights United Church, Past Matron of Scarborough Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and a Past Master of Lodge Pioneer Hope/Trillium of York, Order of Women Freemasons. Funeral service will be held at Iondale Heights United Church, 115 Ionview Road, Scarborough on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to David's House, 550 Coronation Drive, Unit 16, Scarborough, ON M1E 4V1.
