Tadeusz Dziekiewicz was born on May 8, 1939, in Lida, Poland, before the outbreak of the Second World War. He was the son of Genowefa and Jozef, and grew up alongside his brother, Leszek and sister, Danuta.
He devoted much of his career to education and sport, working as a teacher and dedicated coach of girls’ handball teams. With his guidance and discipline, he led these teams to significant success and numerous championships.
Later in life, he embraced a new chapter by immigrating to Canada - a decision that reflected his resilience, love for his family, determination, and quiet strength - qualities that defined him throughout his life.
He had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. He found joy in sports, camping, long walks, making herbal remedies, foraging for mushrooms, helping to raise his grandchildren, gardening, and most of all - fishing - the simple pleasures that brought him peace and connection to the world around him.
He was known for his steady presence. He valued hard work, discipline, and integrity, and he carried those values into every part of his life — as a teacher, a coach, a husband, a father, and a grandfather.
He passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2025, at the age of 86.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janina; his children, Katarzyna, Piotrek, and Wojtek; and his cherished grandchildren, Alicja, Michael, Jessica, Natalia, and Filip.
He will be remembered for his dignified demeanour, love of family, and the way he shaped the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Na zawsze w naszych sercach i pamięci. Spoczywaj w pokoju.
