Vernon Edward Parish

PARISH, Vernon Edward - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Vern at Scarborough General Hospital on April 29, 2014 at age 94. Dad exited the frustration of losing his mobility and entered into rest exactly as he lived his life, quietly, peacefully and surrounded by family. A dedicated family man, Vern leaves his beloved and loving wife of 73 years Joan (nee Coles), loving children Ed (Jackie) and Rosemary (Ted Goodwin). He was proud of his grandchildren and will be greatly missed by Sean Goodwin (Sonya), Geoffrey Goodwin (Melanie), Scott Parish and Lesley (Steve Laurence). His great-grandchildren were a constant source of pleasure and Great-Grandpa was loved by Tiffany and Ashley Goodwin, Noah and Dillon Goodwin and Scarlett and London Laurence. Brother to Bill (Marny), Gordon (Bernice) and Hazel (late Glen McLaughlin). Uncle Vern will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre "Scarborough" 4115 Lawrence Avenue East, West Hill, Ontario, on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. The family thanks Farooq of Saint Elizabeth, Toronto EMS and the staff at Scarborough General Hospital Emergency Department for the wonderful care and compassion provided.
