Fraser, Rosaline, Frank, Kathlene and Cecilia.  We are truly sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.  Our family will always have fond memories of your mom and dad and your visits to our farm in Douro.  There was always good laughs and fun during the visit.  Unfortunately we are not able to attend the funeral on Thursday.  Take care.

I knew Bill for 70 years.  We met at Holy Name school in Sept. 1941 and we also went to high school and University as well as overlapping one year in graduate school.  I saw Bill about 5 or 6 weeks ago and had hoped to see him again at the St. Mike's reunion next June. Although we didn't see each other as often recently, I will miss him very much,

They were a devoted couple and it warmed the heart to see them together. Bill was a great guy. Sharp witted. Smart. Great attention to detail. He got the job done. Kept a band of pirates together, who sometimes would rather cut each others throats than cooperate with each other. And made sure that Canadians were able to learn who won elections. Many elections. Important elections. Think of Bill as one of those who wound the spring that kept democracy ticking. Working with him was a joy. Watching him travel the country with his beloved Elizabeth, she patiently waiting while Bill figured out why there weren't enough tables or why he was short one correspondent, was delightful. It was a working retirement and, but for health, Bill would still be at it. When the time came, with his usual attention to detail and grace, he told us it was time to find a new executive director. We set a handover period of nearly a whole year - Bill kept his bargain; worked them all and now, the job done, has signed off, final-for-the-night. From his friends at CTV, Bill will be missed. To his beloved, know that our prayers are with you. We too feel the pain of his passing.
