Born on August 8, 1935, in New York, New York. Son of Henry and Rita Fabricant. Arthur moved to London in 1965 and spent most of his time between London and Nassau, Bahamas. Arthur lived a life full of passion, excitement and achievement, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Arthur attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland and graduated from Union College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Thereafter, he received a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. His professional career was equally distinguished and spanned everything from working as a Federal Prosecutor within the US Attorney Generals Group on Organized Crime, serving as CEO and President of the International Division at Seligman & Latz Inc. to representing the motion picture industry and, ultimately, acquiring the Elizabeth Arden Red Door company.
Often compared to the iconic James Bond, Arthur excelled in every endeavor he pursued. His adventurous spirit took him from the snowy slopes of the Alps to heli-skiing in Canada to the serene waters of the Bahamas. Wherever he found himself he embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. An avid skier, swimmer, and golfer, Arthur was a familiar face at the Lyford Cay Club, the Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, and the Old Fort Bay Club. He cherished his weekly golf games at Lyford Cay where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his special golfing buddies. Arthur and his wife Carol enjoyed summer visits to his home, Old Warren Farm, in Wimbledon. As an avid tennis fan Arthur was a long-time debenture holder at The All England Lawn Tennis Championships. Arthur's zest for life was evident in his many travels and experiences around the world. He attended operas in a variety of world capitals and was often seen swimming in the beautiful sea at Old Fort Bay, embodying the joy of living fully in the moment. His friends and family will remember him not only for his athletic prowess, business skills and love of the arts but, also, for his warmth, charm, and unwavering support.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife Carol Fabricant, his children, Jill Tsakiris (Todd), Mary Hanover (Brian), John Fabricant (Daphanie), James Fabricant and Annie Fabricant as well as Grandchildren Eli and Andrew Tsakiris, Max, Arabella and Teddy Hanover and Kai and Dylan Fabricant and his sister Gale Gilbert. May his sense of adventure and joy endure through his children and grandchildren. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rita Fabricant.
A celebration of Arthur's life will be held on February 24 at the Old Fort Bay Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wimbledon Common or Lyford Cay Foundations. Arthur will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit, amazing jokes, and the countless lives he touched.
