I recently found out that Barrie Ingham passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. As a kid, I loved him as the voice of Basil in The Great Mouse Detective. I'll never forget the personality and energy he brought to that role. For me, it's one of the many reasons to watch the film again. May Mr. Ingham Rest In Peace. 

Barrie, I will never forget the amazing and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I had to work with you those couple of times with LISF. You strengthened my abilities as an actor, and I was always in awe how you effortlessly commanded a room with your voice, and presence. You talking to me on the phone, and coaching me for the finals of ACTF was an act of kindness that has never been forgotten. I'm saddened I'm just now learning of your passing, and inside I'm nothing short of devastated, especially since I live in Orlando, and desperately wish I could turn back time and visit you while you were here, or see your show and take your classes. You will always be my teacher in my mind, wherever I go. I will never forget you.

I remember going to the cinema to see "The Great Mouse Detective" in 1986. Basil became one of my favorite heroes due to his charm, wit, and sense of humor. Disney made the perfect casting choice, and I'm forever grateful of their decision.

My sister and I met Barrie at Creation Entertainment in 2007 in Sacramento. He was there for his appearances in Star Trek and Doctor Who, but he also had autographs for his voice work of Basil. We spent a lot of time talking about his career in stage, screen, and television, making it one of the best and memorable moments for us both. He was a delightful gentleman, always polite and quick with a good joke.

Barrie, thank you so much for the laughs and smiles from your characters and from your own, amazing self. You are deeply missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Barrie's death. 
I have been a fan of him ever since watching 'The Great Mouse Detective' as a child.
He was a very talented actor and lovely, charming man who has inspired me a lot in my own acting career.
I'll always remember him mainly for that beautiful character of Basil that brightened up my childhood years. 
What a wonderful man we have lost.
My thoughts are with his family, friends and fellow fans at this time.

I never had the chance to meet Barrie Ingham in person, but I knew without a doubt that he was a wonderful man from what I was told. I was more familiar of him as the voice behind Basil of Baker Street, who to this very day is still my favorite it Disney character. Hearing about his passing really hit home for me since he was a part of my childhood. He shall definitely be missed.

I never met Barrie Ingham in person, but I wish I did, because he seems like a very interesting and cool guy. Such a shame he died so young. A terribly underrated actor he was, especially considering Basil is one of my favorite Disney characters, mainly because of Ingham's wonderful performance of bringing that character to life. Thank you for all your hard work, Barrie.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Barrie Ingham backstage in Toronto after his performance in "Me and My Girl" back in 1988. We must have chatted for over a half hour, as he was happy to talk about his work voicing Basil, in Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective". Such a nice gentleman he was. We'll miss him greatly.

Barrie, today I will be thinking of you, and wishing you were here to celebrate your 83rd year of life. Thank you so much for the many laughs and smiles through your characters and through your own self. You are deeply loved, and you are deeply missed. 

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
