One of the kindest, most generous, honest woman I have ever known. The world is a little darker with your beautiful light shining--especially on Rosarian.  You were the rock! So glad to have known you all these years!

Miss Reader was formidable on athletic courts and behind the wheel of the Rosarian bus. We have very fond memories of her. She is likely playing golf in heaven and having a grand time reunited with Miss Adamson.

To  Cathy’s family my deepest heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved Cathy. I had the fortunate opportunity to work at Rosarian under Cathy’s wing for a short time. I will be forever grateful for her kindness and support at a time in my life when I came to Rosarian looking for a teaching position. Cathy was a leader in so many ways and the enthusiasm and caring ways with such genuine love she brought to the Rosarian staff and students will be missed dearly. She was truly one of a kind!

Cathy and I developed a great friendship over the 19 consecutive years that I had children at Rosarían.  Our friendship continued until her death.  I was part friend, part confidante and part lawyer.  She was a total hoot from the time I met her—in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s.  Always smiling, laughing and yet always “playing by the rules.”  I loved her to the core.  I eagerly await our heavenly reunion.  May God be kind and merciful to Cathy and her extended family.  I’ll miss seeing her on the property, her waves, her smiles  as I’m Rosarian’s back door neighbor.  God bless you all!

I was 7 years old when I first met Ms.Reader. My sister Kelly & I had just started a new school, Rosarian Academy. My mother had driven to the entrance of our community to meet the bus. Behind my bubbly, over-the-top, talkative personality, I was terrified. 
As the doors to the yellow bus opened, I heard a voice that would become a constant in my life for the next 8 years. "Well, hello there. Are you ready to start your new year? Welcome to Rosarian". It was Ms. Reader. For the next eight years, she was my teacher, coach, and bus driver. But it was the hours after the bell rang that I would come to cherish; the bus rides to and from home. During those hour-long rides, we would talk, tell stories, and in my case, she would correct me. Never with harshness, but always with a gentle hand.
Because of Ms. Reader,  I can say "shut up" a 100 different ways other than saying "Shut up," do a flip turn in the pool faster than most, face a softball flying at my face without fear & tread water for much more than 30 mins. She was a constant in my life when I needed someone the most, even if I didn't know it. And at the end of the day, when I was the only one left on the bus, Ms. Reader took the time to explain the day's lessons when I was so lost. As a child with severe learning disabilities, it was that time that had the most significant impact, reverberating to this day. She had faith, confidence, and belief in me, even when I didn't. 
Cathy Reader was much more than a teacher, coach, or mentor at Rosarian . She "WAS ROSARIAN". As the days go on, my mind will fondly remember Ms. Reader. Each night as I close my eyes, I will see her smiling down. Not from the clouds or floating in the sky, but from her control booth in the theater, shining the light on each student as they walked on to the stage. If we only knew then, what we all know now, the true light was shining on her.

My deepest sympathies during your time of loss, my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I was lucky enough to work with Cathy and got a chance to see what a kind and caring woman she could be. Cathy will always be in my heart and memories forever. You may have lost a loved one, but heaven has gained another angel. 

My heart is heavy right now, but when I think of every memory you were in there’s always a smile. From remembering that time me and my sister were out trick or treating and this person comes up in a Broomhilda costume and starts following us and talking to us. Then the going from a little scared to “THAT is Aunt Cathy!” Growing up all the holidays and ‘just because’ weekends you came to be with us. Playing on your stairs ( I think you were the only person with a two story house so it was Soo fun) getting your neighbors all riled up because we would slide down them making THUDDING noises the whole way down on their shared wall. There was always toys in your guest room to play with no matter how old we were. Even when I had a son of my own you still had the Aladdin set and the other toys we played with growing up. 
You helped me follow my dream and having my own mobile dog grooming business. And even supporting me with bringing Miss Jodi every month. That was one of my favorite things, being able to see you every month and catch up since  Northlake Blvd was like a borderline to another country for both ways. I’m so glad you were able to know my daughter, even if it was briefly. There are so many more memories and so many lives that you touched. You were loved by everyone and always will be in our hearts.
