On Monday, September 6, 2021, the Perl family lost our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, doctor and hero. Charles Greenfield Perl, known to many as "Chuck" or simply as “Doc Perl”, lost his battle with heart disease at the age of 79. Charles was surrounded by his family towards the end of his battle.
Charles was born on June 1, 1942 to the late Abysch Sass Perl and Hencha Greenfield Perl. They immigrated from Poland to Cuba and then to the United States. Charles grew up in Miami where he met Janice Onrot during high school. On June 30, 1963, Charles and Janice were married in Toronto, Canada. Charles is survived by his wife, Janice Perl, his devoted children Risa Perl, Tobi Perl, Amy Perl Redding (Eric) and Mark Perl, and his loving grandchildren Michael Kerniss, Stephanie Kerniss and Samantha Redding.
Charles' career as a family physician spanned 50 years. From his first practice in the Kingston Plaza in Plantation, to Ready Care in Pompano, Cleveland Clinic in Weston, and finally Treasure Coast Primary Care in Stuart. He was not only loved and cherished by his patients, but he was well respected by the entire medical community wherever he practiced. Charles resided in Stuart, Florida at the time of his death. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetic Association.
