

David Ettwine Colflesh, Jr. Col US Army, Ret, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2014 at his home in Breakers West, West Palm Beach. Mr. Colflesh was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1918. He attended Carteret Academy in New Jersey prior to his attending Columbia University and then volunteering for the Army in 1941. Before his military retirement, Col. Colflesh had served his country during WWII in the US Army and continued to serve for 33 years. During his service he taught at the United States Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. After retirement from the Army, he was a Real Estate Broker on Long Island, NY for many years. Following his move to Florida in 1978, he continued his Real Estate career with Sotheby's International Realty, retiring in 1999. Currently, he was a resident of West Palm Beach and had been a resident of Palm Beach for 27 years. Mr. Colflesh was a member of the Beach Club in Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Yacht Club and the Mayacoo Country Club in West Palm Beach.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Audrey W. Colflesh and a niece, Beatrice Fleming and her husband, John of Huntington, NY, and their son Michael of Brooklyn Heights, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda By The Sea in Palm Beach.
