In loving memory of Donald Edward Girard, who left this world on March 14, 2026, at the age of 64, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Don passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by love and the comfort of his family.
Born on December 19, 1961, in West Palm Beach, FL, to Roland and Jeanne Girard, Don spent his childhood years in Jupiter, FL, where he could often be found swimming and surfing in the Jupiter Inlet. A proud graduate of Jupiter High School in 1980, Don was active in wrestling and baseball, laying the foundation for a lifetime of dedication to sports and community involvement.
Don devoted over 45 years to the grocery industry, culminating in his retirement as a meat manager at Publix. His career was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Don mentored many colleagues during his time at Publix and Winn Dixie.
An Eagle Scout in his youth, Don's commitment to service and leadership was lifelong. One of his proudest moments was witnessing his oldest grandson, Landon, achieve the same honor, a testament to the values he imparted to his family. This bond was symbolized by the special Eagle Scout Grandparent pin Landon presented to him shortly before his passing.
Don's love for the outdoors was infectious, particularly his passions for fishing and golfing. He cherished time spent in nature with his sons, grandkids, and friends. Even when he ventured onto the golf course alone, Don returned with tales of new friendships, a testament to his outgoing spirit and genuine heart. His talent and enthusiasm for baseball were evident as he served as a World Series Umpire for the Little League, Minor League, and College League, where his knowledge and skill earned him profound respect.
Don had a fiercely competitive spirit, not only when it came to sports, but also when it came to playing the card game, Five Crowns, with his mother-in-law, wife, and friends.
Above all, Don's heart was most full when watching his grandchildren excel in sports and academics. He beamed with pride at their accomplishments and was their biggest cheerleader both on and off the field.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Jeanne Girard. He is survived by his devoted wife of six years, Kim, his loving sons, Chad (Carolynn), Aaron, and Austin (Kayla) Girard, his siblings Carl, Alfred, Michelle, Kevin, Collette, and Jimmy (Tamara) Girard, along with his cherished grandchildren, Landon, Blake, Wyatt, Clint, Leland, Arabella, and Brantley Girard, He also leaves behind his stepchildren Breanna, Alyssa, and Cameron Stansell, step-grandchildren, Dylan, Ellie, and Demi Stansell, and his mother-in-law, Gloria
Morrison. Don is also remembered fondly by countless nieces, nephews, his uncle, and friends who were like family to him.
Those who knew Don remember him for his ever-present smile, unwavering positive attitude, and kindness that touched everyone he met. His willingness to help others left an indelible mark on many lives and his legacy will forever inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
