Don is survived by his wife, Marge of 60 years. He has two sons, Mike and Mary in Yuba City, California and Jeff and Michelle in Wellington, Florida,4 grand children Stephanie, Jennifer, Eric and Nicole, and 4 great grand children Coralee, Jordan, Harper, and Evan.
He was the last living sibling of 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Julian, Virgil, George, Eddie, Mary Ann, and Margret Jean.
Don was born on October 3rd, 1934 in Mission Hill, SD to Thomas Albert Sarringar and Mary Louise. He attended Yankton College before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Tachikawa Air Force base in Japan as a Supply Specialist and he also played football and made the Air Force All Star Team. He was written up in the newspaper and was referred to as the fastest running back in the Far East. After leaving the Air Force he enrolled at the University of Nebraska.
Don worked for The Goodyear Tire and Company for 41 years. He was an active and dedicated Elder of the Presbyterian Church, and often volunteered his time during the Holiday Seasons as Santa Claus where he delivered gifts to families in need. He was also involved in many outside activities like Church Choir, Boy Scouts, Jaycees, and was a youth football coach.
A Memorial is scheduled for 11am on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church located at 4601 S. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, with a reception to follow. Pastor Jack Noble will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don’s life.
