Dorothy Lee Hollingsworth passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in West Palm Beach at the young age of 83.

“Dottie”, as she was affectionately known, was born in Oakland, CA, on October 10, 1936.

Dottie began working as a legal assistant in Miami and later in West Palm Beach at Akerman Senterfitt. Dottie became a pilot in the 80’s at her father and brother’s company called Pelican Aviation in Hollywood, FL and joined a flight club called the “Ladybugs”. Once again, she has earned her wings and is now an angel in the sky. Dottie piloted through her amazing life.

Dottie, a.k.a. Dottie gadget loved shopping. She had the biggest heart and went thru life with a smile giving others something to smile about. She was fierce but loving, hard but soft and strong but sensitive.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Victoria Maloney and Linda Price, Life companion and friend Richard Halder, Grandchildren, Russell, Joey and Jared Dickerson, Jason and Justin Price, Great-grandchildren, Dean and Mykael Dickerson. Dottie will be fondly remembered by her blessed family and friends and she will “Forever be in our Hearts”.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, Saturday, September 14 with a small reception to follow. Please arrive by 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dottie’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to https://bahamasredcross.org/ to aid those affected by Hurricane Dorian. Dottie was a very special friend to all and will never be forgotten. She loved life and it loved her right back! She may be gone now from our sight, but never from our hearts. Rest in peace, Sweet Dottie.

My sincere condolences to Dottie's family and good friends.

Dottie we had so much fun together when we both lived in the same neighborhood in Tulsa. I could always count on you to be happy and a bright spot on any day. I am thankful we were able to get together a few years ago and spend a week in Estes Park, Colorado. I admired you for being able to fly all over the place in your airplane. I know you never lost your love for horses. You will be missed by all who knew you.
Love, Wanda

I met Dottie through my dear friend Vikki a number of years ago. Of all the people I know, she could always make me laugh. Dottie had the best stories and could tell them well.
I know she had been feeling so bad lately and was tired. She will be able to rest in heaven where she will be able to laugh again. I will miss her very much but know she is at peace.

Am so sad to hear of Dottie's passing. She has been suffering quite a lot over the last year and I had a feeling the end was nearing. My condolences to Vicky and her entire family. I have been friends with Dottie since we worked together at Broad and Cassel in Bay Harbor Islands back in l980!!

She was always a bundle of joy and fun and we had many laughs over the years. I will miss her terribly but am happy she is now at peace and in God's hands. I am so sorry I no longer live in Florida and will be unable to attend the service. God Bless.
