Dr. Emile Sandler, beloved husband, father and grandfather, a gentle and kind man and all around great guy passed away on August 13. Emile grew up in Brooklyn and began dating Vivian in high school. She would be the love of his life and wife for more than 50 years. Friends and family regularly marveled at their affection and deep love for each other.
Emile had a long and successful career as a podiatrist in New York City. He and Vivian raised their sons, Andy, Eric and Craig in Pearl River, NY where they were founding members of Beth Am Temple. Emile served the Temple in many roles including leading it as its President. Emile and Vivian were avid world travelers throughout their adult lives, visiting more than 30 countries. They had a special affection for Israel which they visited several times with family and friends and actively supported.
They had a wonderful retirement in Jupiter, Florida enjoying the beach, continuing their travels and spending time with their sons and their wives Karen, Marcy and Natalie and doting on their ten grandchildren Karna, Jenna, Michael, Alyssa, Jake, Ethan, Ari, Sarit, Justin and Elan.
Following Vivian’s passing, Emile found true love a second time and he and wife Fran had (ten) wonderful years together before he was taken from his loving family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in his memory be sent to the leukemia lymphoma society (lls.org, 800-955-4572)
