Jan 9, 1958 – March 17, 2026
Gerard McCann a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and lifelong family man, passed away after a short battle with cancer surrounded by those he loved most -his family.
Raised in Rockaway Beach , NY, Gerard a graduate of St Francis De Sales and Monsignor McClancy HS carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life. He made Palm Beach County his home in 1978, building a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and deep affection for the people around him.
Gerard spent many years at The Breakers in Palm Beach, where his dedication and warmth made him a beloved colleague and friend. He later continued his career with JetBlue Airways, bringing the same steady presence, humor, and kindness that defined him everywhere he went.
Above all else, Gerard’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud father to three daughters, who shaped his world and made him the “girl dad” he cherished being for so many years. Christine, Elizabeth and Kathleen blessed him with 5 grandchildren (Olivia, Levi, Nora, Hannah & Emma) he adored.
Life blessed him with one of its greatest gifts when he and the love of his life, his wife Lois, welcomed their twin boys Jack & Gerard in 2017. Together, they built a home filled with love. He loved watching his boys play baseball and soccer and taught them to cherish the beach.
Gerard was beloved by his 3 older brothers, two younger sisters (John (Kathy) ; Hutch (Theresa) ; Chris (Yvette), Theresa( Luz) & Gracie (Wayne) . There were too many funny memories to name growing up but it was always an “adventure” if Gerard was involved!
Gerard’s legacy lives on in his wife Lois, his three daughters, his twin sons, 5 grandchildren. He will continue to maintain “favorite uncle” status to his 8 nieces and nephews. His life was marked by generosity, kindness, & quiet strength.
He will be remembered for his humor, deep love for his family and of course Carvel & Pizza. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. There is no surprise that he chose his favorite day -St Paddy’s Day to leave this earth. He will always live in our hearts and memories.
A Mass of remembrance and celebration of life to be held at St Ignatius Loyola Church, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00am.
