Our hearts are with Sonia, Mike and family. Bert was kind, fun loving and always at his best when family was around. May he rest peacefully.

Mi dear cousin Humbertico,  impossible to think you are gone. My favorite cousin!!! Your memories will keep you alive. Our youth back in Louisiana at Brusly High! Days of football games, homecoming dances! Your interest in Connie LeJune! Mine with Jeff Woolf!oh our youth!
Our days at LSU football games, Sigma Nu fraternity (you sneaked me in). Uncle Bert livid when he found out you crossed the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge to Port Allen when it was under construction!!
Oh! How we teased Elsita!! Remembering Howdy Doody puppet appearing all over the house and heard her scream : “mama, Boy is bad!” We laughed as we love her!!
We were so closed then you moved to West Palm Beach , our lives took a grownup path. I married Erwin , you married Alina . Parenthood took us to another step, I had Eric and Karl ; you followed with your proud treasures,  Alinita and Michael! How you love them, unconditional!
Remember visiting Tia y Tio and you coming with Alinita , you took my 2 years old , Adria, in your arms and loving her , telling me how you love children. Adria drank only Martinelly apple juice because of you. “Cachita this is the best Apple juice” . After 32 years we still buy it!
How I lost contact 3 yrs ago?? Again, another path we took!
Life goes on , Bert, but our memories stand still!

I remember coming to this country in 1984 with my family at only 7 years old I can  remember how good you were to us ! I remember getting in the pool with mike and Alinita and having a blast . I know that you were family but ,your heart was so welcoming ! As a cousin you were awesome as a father-in-law  you were AMAZING ! Only God knows how much we will miss you . I love you Burt !  I promise to always look over Sonia  and have her back for what ever she needs  like you always had ours !  Until we meet again  , your cousin/ son-in-law  .. Judiel

Mom had nothing but wonderful things to say about him & his kindness when she stayed over.
Enjoyed him at all of our family functions.
He was a lot of fun and always so gracious.
