Jerrold “Jerry” Brooks, born April 20, 1942, in Pennsylvania, was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family.
Jerry was married to his beloved wife, Carole Miller Brooks, for 63 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and hard work.
Jerry was a great dad and a man who took tremendous pride in caring for his family. He was a dedicated member of the IBEW union for 63 years. He believed in the value of hard work and always did whatever was necessary to provide for those he loved. When work was slow locally, Jerry would travel across the country to find union jobs and keep his family provided for. His dedication, determination, and strong work ethic were a reflection of the man he was.
Following his retirement from the electrical trade, Jerry continued working for many years at H&R Block, demonstrating the same commitment and diligence that had defined his working life.
While Jerry worked hard throughout his life, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved spoiling them and making memories with them, and the time he spent with his family was among his most treasured moments. His love, generosity, and dedication to his family will be remembered always.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, George Brooks and Martha Brooks Gielarowski; his stepfather, Joseph Gielarowski; his beloved wife, Carole Brooks; and his daughter, Deborah Brooks.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Brooks (Danielle), Daniel Brooks (Suzane), and David Brooks; his grandchildren, Dawn Stricklin (Spencer), Jessica Pearson (Sean), David Brooks Jr., Maksim Brooks, and Brayden Brooks; and his great-grandchildren, Daxton and Mary Stricklin, and Brooks and Chapman Pearson.
He is also survived by his sisters, Martha Turnmire, Alice (Eric) Grofebert, Mary Jo Cox, and Christina (Mitchell) Custred; his brother, Joseph Gielarowski; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and unconditional love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but the memories he
created and the values he lived by will continue to live on through the generations of his family.
