Margaret went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 9, 2020. She was born in the Bronx in 1936 to Max and
Marie Sands. She grew up in Ridgewood N.J.. While in high school she volunteered as a Nightingale at
Ridgewood's Valley Hospital. That formed her goal to be a nurse. She attended Ohio Wesleyan
University and graduated from The Presbyterian Hospital at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center,
Columbia Univ. N.Y. with a degree in nursing. After graduation she returned to the hospital where she
was a Nightingale in High School. In 1961 she married Victor R. (Bob) Kruger and they moved to the
Binghamton N.Y. area. She taught nursing at the Binghamton General Hospital School of Nursing. She
loved sewing, reading, gardening, and playing bridge. In 1984 she and her husband moved to
Wellington. She was a member of Christ Community Church (nee. Wellington Presbyterian Church), the
Wellington Garden Club, the Neighborhood Crime Watch effort, and a volunteer for the PBSO's Citizen
Observer Patrol in Wellington. Margaret and Bob were fortunate to have been able to travel throughout
the United States and Europe (lived in Sweden for one year), The Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, South
America, Central America, Australia/New Zealand, and the Far East. Margaret is survived by her
husband, Bob; son, Victor Kruger; daughter, Kathleen Holmes; grandson, Martin Sigala; granddaughter,
Ashley Kruger; sisters, Beverly Yates and Virginia Stefancik; step-brothers, Jeffery and Douglas Sands.
