Bernadette Millien, was born on August 1, 1930 in Port Salut, Haiti. From an early age she totally immersed and dedicated herself to her faith and her catholic community, which would prove to be a lifelong devotion for her.
Bernadette was a devoted wife, dedicated mother and loving grandmother. She married her best friend, with whom she spent 68 years. She was blessed to have a large and loving family and raised four wonderful children with love, patience, humility and discipline. She taught them all the importance of service to the church and community, also that traveling to see the world was a must and a passion she shared with her children and grandchildren, but most importantly the importance of prayer and love for one another.
Her family grew to include many more than just relatives. People gravitated towards her because of the person she was, always seeing the good in others as well as providing comfort and refuge no matter the situation. She was always ready to share her wisdom, her love, home, a meal, a glass of wine or a good joke. Although she never held her tongue, she had the style and grace to exude kindness, strength and dignity to those around her. She was loving, resilient, confident and considerate, she will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her husband, Raymond, her children Jean Michel, Sabine & Jacques, Dominique and Regine & Jay; her grandchildren Jacquelene, Dominick, Jordy, Alec, Jacqueline, Gabriella and Raynier; countless nieces, nephews and loved ones, including the families, Millien, Rigaudon, Laine, Nader, Elie, Erasme, Magny, Gauvin, Gervais, Dugue, Dubois,Valere, Obas-Ducoste.
