With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Eileen (Hoye) Augustyn, a beloved sister and friend, who peacefully entered eternal rest on January 11, 2025, at the age of 91, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born on April 9, 1933, in Springfield, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Kublick and Mary Kublick.
Eileen was predeceased by her two loving husbands, Stanford L. Hoye, her husband of 24 years, and U.S.A.F. (Ret) Col. Frank J. Augustyn, her husband of 16 years, each of whom she cherished deeply.
She is survived by her two dear sisters, Norma Hinckle (Charles) and Nancy Baisden (Don), her cousins, Dolores Wilson, Donna Miller, John Kublick, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Ramshaw. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her stepdaughters from her marriage to Stan, Deborah Villers, Stephanie Hoye, and Teresa Doolittle, and the extended family of her late husband Frank, all of whom continue to hold her in their hearts.
A devoted Catholic, Eileen took comfort in the church and its teachings, finding strength in prayer and community. A source of strength, warmth, and compassion to all who knew her, she will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the countless lives she touched through her generous heart. For decades, Eileen donated her time and expertise by volunteering for several not-for-profit organizations in Illinois and Florida, in particular organizations seeking to improve the lives of women and children. Eileen was a past President of the Poinciana Garden Club of Delray Beach and a past recipient of the Soroptimist International “Volunteer of Distinction Award” and the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties “Dwight Allison Fellow” award. In 2009, Eileen received the Bethesda Memorial Hospital Foundation “Woman of Grace” award recognizing her years of service to the Foundation, which included service on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and being a founding member of the Magnolia Society. A former member of the Women’s Circle in Boynton Beach, Eileen served on its Board of Directors for over 10 years. Eileen's legacy will live on in the love and faith she passed on to those closest to her.
There will be a funeral mass at Lourdes Noreen McKeen, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
