Michele Marie Sculac

April 28, 1954-March 22, 2025 Michele Marie Sculac, beloved daughter of the late William and Jacqueline McDonnell, was born on April 28, 1954, in Newport, Rhode Island. She was a devoted and loving big sister to her only sibling, the late Denise Mack.

Michele’s family moved to Florida in 1957 to be closer to her maternal grandfather, Robert “Pops” Queriot—a charming Frenchman working in the service industry in Palm Beach. Michele attended Holy Name Catholic School and later graduated from John I. Leonard High School. She went on to study Human Resources at Florida Atlantic College.

Her greatest joy was the blessing of her daughter, Nicole Duncan. She was also fortunate to find and marry her true love, Joseph Sculac, on April 8, 2011.

Michele enjoyed a fulfilling career in the healthcare and hospitality industries and was the consummate professional.

If you had to choose one word to describe Michele, it would be meticulous.

Not only did she have an innate attention to detail, but she also possessed unmatched organizational and management skills—traits she inherited from her parents and lovingly passed on to her daughter and grandchildren.

Michele began her career in 1977 at South County Mental Health in the medical records division. She later became the Director of Human Resources at The Gardens Court in 1996. In 2006, she joined Joseph in the golf club world as the Membership Director at The Rim and Chaparral Pines Golf Clubs in Payson, Arizona. They later ventured to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where she worked in Human Resources at Champion Hills Golf Club. Upon returning to South Florida, Michele joined the team at Trustbridge Hospice in 2014 and later transitioned to the Trustbridge Foundation. After many years of dedicated service, she retired in August of 2023.

Michele loved spending time with her grandchildren in Los Angeles. “Mimi,” as they affectionately called her, spoiled them rotten. She enjoyed making them pancakes, being Sydney’s number one hair client, and riding scooters around the neighborhood with Tommy. She was always present for Sydney’s Hot Chocolate Nutcracker performances and Tommy’s basketball games.

Michele also enjoyed the beach, traveling to Italy, Joe’s cooking, and eating lobster every day in Martha’s Vineyard. She cherished time spent in Plymouth with her best friend, Debbie. Above all else, Michele was an extraordinary mother, wife, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She was loving, affectionate, wise, disciplined, fun, open, and kind. These qualities were self-evident to all those blessed to be in her light.

Michele Sculac is lovingly survived by her only child, Nicole C. Duncan, and son-in-law, Thomas M. Duncan II; and her adoring grandchildren, Thomas M. Duncan III and Sydney Marie Duncan.

She also leaves behind her beloved husband, Joseph Sculac, and his three daughters: Delilah Marose (Justin), Debbie Kunkle (Steve), and Daphne Sculac (Matt); along with six beautiful grandchildren: Dexter, Duke, Austin, Isla, Nixon, and Thunder.

She is also survived by her nephews Eric Pertee (Julia) and Brent Pertee (Melissa); great-nephews and nieces Branden, Romeo, Benjamin, Malina, and Santana; her aunt Patricia Bachus; cousins Jane, William, and Karen; and many treasured friends.

On March 22, 2025, Michele departed this life and entered her eternal rest. Michele’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved so well.
