Robert was a native of Mobile, Alabama. He resided in Missouri four decades prior to moving to Palm Beach, FL five years ago.
He passed away in a local hospital with family at his side. Robert succumbed to Pulmonary Fibrosis, a rare and incurable lung disease; which he valiantly battled for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Saunders Robinson of Palm Beach. A daughter, Ashley Robinson Rodgers, son-in-law, Scott A. Rodgers, and three grandchildren. Hunter Robinson Rodgers, London Ashley Rodgers and Kennedy Caroline Rodgers, all of St. Louis, MO.
Robert attended McGill Institute and received a BS in Business Administration from USM. Where he was a member of ROTC and KA fraternity. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Lieutenant, US Army. And served in Germany as an Infantry paratrooper for the tenure of his active duty. After his military service, he joined Monsanto. Where for twenty years he held various financial positions in their Domestic and International Divisions. Beginning in Pensacola, Florida then transferring several years later to the World Headquarters in St. Louis.
The next thirty years, he served as CFO for several privately held companies.
His final affiliation was with SandPointe,LLC; a Palm Beach based Asset Management Company; where he was also a partner.
Robert, a consummate gentleman, always led by example: respectful, encouraging and steadfast to all whose lives he touched. Dedicated beyond measure to God, family and country.
He will be cremated. And has requested there be no formal funeral service. Private family memorials to be held at a later date in Missouri and Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate donations to The National Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
