Sy was born on October 10, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Nathan and Rose Goldberg. He graduated from Central High School in 1942, and was drafted into the US Army serving as combat infantry with his platoon "The Butchers of Bitche", H Company, the 398 regiment, 100th Division.
Sy married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Glass, in 1943. He owned and operated Adept Oil Burner Parts before moving to South Florida in the early 80's where he had his own small retail business.
Sy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Shaleen
Goldberg of Pompano Beach, Fl; and his granddaughter Madison DeFillippo of Loxahatchee, Fl. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and his son, Larry.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was a wonderful
and kind man and never ceased to bring joy to those around him. His memory will live on for those of us who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
