Shirley Friedman

Shirley L. Friedman 83 of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. Shirley was born January 18, 1932 to Benjamin & Etta Bigney. She graduated from Hope High School and immediately went into the business world working for Davis & Davis and G.H. Walker brokerage firms. After marriage, she joined her husband Murray in his catalog showroom company and created a successful business with over 250 employees. Shirley enjoyed playing Mahjong, Bridge, Canasta, and Golf. She was a member of the Ledgemount Country Club, Ballen Isles Country Club, and Temple Beth EL in Rhode Island and Temple Judea in Palm Beach Gardens. Shirley was a Life Member of Hadassah and a world traveler with an enormous zest for life. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends. Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Murray Friedman; sons Alan (Carol) Friedman, Brian (Bobbie) Friedman and Gary Friedman; granddaughters Lauren (Richard) Koblick and Allison Friedman; brother Arnold (Marilyn) Bigney. Shirley is pre-deceased by her brother Paul Bigney.
