

Rev. Thomas Maloney was called home to his Lord on March 7, 2017. He was born in Far Rockaway, NY on August 29, 1944. He was ordained a priest May 30, 1970 for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY. He served in several parishes in the diocese until his retirement in January 2004 from St. Joseph’s parish, Babylon, NY. The highlight of Fr. Tom’s ministry was his service to the people of El Cercado in the Dominican Republic, from 1984-1991. He loved all things Irish and traveled widely enjoying several trips to Ireland.
After his retirement, he moved to Florida and became a resident of Lourdes Noreen McKeen in 2010, where he made many new friendships and enjoyed many activities, especially singing and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Thomas Maloney and sisters Anne Kearney, Nora Doria and brother Jim Maloney. He is survived by his devoted sisters Rose Madden of Olathe, KS, Margaret Wilt of Boca Raton, FL and Kathleen Leonard of Concord Township, OH and many nieces and nephews.
The Family wants to thank the staff at Lourdes Noreen McKeen for their attention and professional care. A special thanks to Mario Mangila for his excellent care and friendship.
A mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in the chapel at Lourdes Noreen McKeen, will be celebrated by Fr. Tom’s good friend Rev. Paul Manning.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to The National Parkinson’s Association or Rockville Centre mission, in El Cercado, Dominican Republic.
