

Tim was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 25, 1943 to Barbara Duxbury O’Neil and Thomas Joseph O’Neil III. At a young age Tim moved to New Jersey, growing up in Packanack Lake. Tim graduated from Wayne Valley High School in 1961. Tim was a four-time letterman in high school, excelling in track as a pole-vaulter. Tim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. After college, Tim worked for various car dealerships, including Gensinger Volkswagen in Clifton, NJ and DeMassi Cadillac in Lyndhurst, NJ, always being the top salesman. Eventually Tim opened his own dealership: Tim O’Neil’s Auto Sales. Tim loved the Jersey Shore and the beaches. Tim was an avid New York Rangers fan!
In 1997, Tim moved to Boca Raton, FL. His hobbies included tennis and golf. In 2002, Tim moved to Palm Beach, FL and semi-retired. Tim ran and owned Surfside Cafe. Tim was known on the island for his warm, friendly smile, waving to everyone while riding on his scooter. Tim is survived by his son, Thomas Joseph O’Neil V of Lake Worth; three sisters, Karen Jane Swanson and husband Dan of Palm Beach, Jacqueline O’Neil Abel of West Palm Beach, and Susan Duxbury LaVigne and husband Stephen of San Diego, CA; and four nephews, Robert L. Wertz III of Morgantown, WV, Charles Abel of Fort Lauderdale, Evan Abel of West Palm Beach, and Tyler LaVigne of San Diego, CA.
A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL, 33417, (561) 832-5171. Flowers can be sent to Quattlebaum’s or donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Tim’s memory.
