Mr. McTammany was known as one of the most prolific architectural delineators of the 20th century. His specialty was non-digital watercolor renderings of architectural designs. Every rendering was a hand crafted work of art. His delineations ranged from private residences to office buildings, houses of worship, industrial sites, highway systems, dams and power plants. When he sat down to count his life’s work, the list of 3,448 credits showed projects in 34 states, nine countries and 557 municipalities, including 235 churches and 331 schools. Some of the projects he rendered were built in exotic locales such as the Yarmouk River between Jordan and Syria, in the United Arab Emirates and in Australia. His signature is on renderings of numerous high profile projects; PGA National Resort and Spa, a bird’s eye view of route 128 around Boston, the first Marriott Hotels for J.W. Marriott, the first automated post office in America located in Providence, R.I. which was made into a 4 cent commemorative stamp in 1960.
