

away March 27, 2023. Wife of Paul E. Rudnicki who had the incredible good fortune of being married to Barb for over 54 years. Mother of two daughters, Jennifer L. (late Eric) Schroeck and Susan M. Rudnicki. Proud grandmother of Alex J. Schroeck and Lily S. Rudnicki. Daughter of the late Henry Borycki and the late Joan Dlugokinski. Sister of the late Mark H. (Dona) Borycki and Margaret A. Borycki. Family will be present to receive Relatives and Friends Monday 4-8 PM at the HOY FUNERAL HOME, 3855 Seneca St., West Seneca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning at 10 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 2950 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park. Please assemble at church. Barb was a proud winner of the Jesse Ketchum Medal and was a graduate of Riverside High School and the State University of New York at Buffalo. She received her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Kansas State University. When Barb and Paul returned from Paul’s military service in 1972, they bought a house on Reserve Road in West Seneca which was their home for over 51 years. Barb always had a strong desire for community service and was instrumental in having the Rent-A-Kid Program become very well-used in the Town of West Seneca. Barb was with the West Seneca Youth Bureau for several years. She also
worked with the Town of West Seneca and the West Seneca School System in the Peer Counseling Program which helped discourage drug use among school students. Subsequently, she was employed by the Erie County Department of Social Services as an Employment Counselor and served in that capacity until her retirement. Barb served the Town of West Seneca as Town Councilwoman on the West Seneca Town Board for three four year terms. In 1989, she was named by the Am-Pol Eagle as the “Citizen
of the Year” for politics. Barb was very active in Saint John Vianney Church and was a Religious Education Teacher for several years and was also a Lector at the Church. She was a member of the Saint John Vianney Ladies Sodality and a member of the Women’s Discussion Group. The wellbeing of our veterans was something that Barb cared about very deeply. She was a member of American Legion
Auxiliary 735, AMVETS Auxiliary 8113, and VFW Auxiliary 2940. Barb also volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo. She was a longtime active supporter of the Veterans Food Pantry operated by Western New York Chapter 77 of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
