I came on board with Erie County Social Services in 1994. I was assigned the position of clerk in a public assistance office. Cindy was a caseworker and we were desk partners. I hadn't worked in an office for 20 years and this busy office was overwhelming to me. From the first day, Cindy would encourage me, help me understand my duties and always friendly. Many times I was ready to quit but Cindy would tell me "to hang in there"! Truly, if not for her encouragement I would not have had 22 years of service. During the years, after we both went to other positions, when we saw each other she always took time to say hi and to catch up. I remember telling her that it was because of her I lasted-am glad I did!! She laughed!! Rest in Peace Cindy

Dear Dawn and family, my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your sister. Having met Cindy only briefly and on a rare occasion, I could see s h e was a special woman and a loving daughter, mother , grandmother and your sister. Through shared family stories, I learned Cindy was a lover of all things Egyptian and her preferred decor. You also shared with me that Cindy kept a ,"gift closet" available for any last minute celebration. Well I thought that was so clever, that I was inspired to start my own "gift drawer". So even that little passing story influenced my life, and now every time I go into my gift drawer for a last minute gift, 'll be thanking Cindy for that great idea.
