Dennis Leistner

Born on December 7, 1944, Dennis lived a life marked by service, hard work, and genuine compassion. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the values of honor and dedication throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked faithfully for 36 years before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Above all else, Dennis was a family man. He shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elizabeth, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He was a proud and devoted father to Scott, Bryan, who preceded him in death, and Matthew. His greatest joy came from being "Grandpa" to his four cherished grandchildren—Lauren and Allyson, daughters of Bryan and Holly, and Lucas and Jacob, sons of Matthew and Jacquelynn. He treasured every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Dennis had a gift for making people feel welcome. Whether relaxing on his front porch, sharing stories, laughter, and conversation with neighbors, or lending a helping hand to a friend, he built lasting relationships wherever he went. His porch was more than a place to sit—it was a gathering place where friendships flourished and memories were made.

He found great happiness in life's simple pleasures. A lifelong Buffalo Bisons fan, Dennis loved spending summer evenings at the ballpark cheering on his team. He also found peace with a fishing rod in hand, especially at his favorite spot at the foot of Ferry Street, where quiet moments on the water brought him lasting joy.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Scott and Matthew; his daughters-in-law, Holly and Jacquelynn; his beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Allyson, Lucas, and Jacob; and a large, close-knit extended family. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Gertrude (Norman) Bettinger; Maryanne (Harvey) Gress; and Joyce (Robert) Kobee, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; his beloved son, Bryan; and his siblings Richard Leistner; Rose (Raymond) Zygmunt; Allen Leistner; Ernie (Helen) Leistner; Paul (Grace) Leistner; Robert (Elizabeth) Leistner; Raymond (Maureen) Leistner; and Ronald (Phyllis) Leistner.

Those who knew Dennis will remember his warm smile, quiet strength, generous heart, and steadfast love for his family. He taught by example that a life well lived is measured not by possessions or accomplishments, but by the love we give, the friendships we nurture, and the memories we create together.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. May he rest in eternal peace.

A private memorial service will be conducted for close family in remembrance of Dennis.
