Gilbert Elmer Hackett

Beloved husband of the late Cecelia. Loving father of Langdon (Sue) Hackett, Karen (Gene) Austin, Marceia (Ron) Geist, Joseph Hackett, Justin (Julie) Hackett, Kelly (Brian) Figley and stepson Ron (Michelle) Rottstedt. Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Anna Hackett, son John Hackett, nephew Michael Geist, and great-great granddaughter Hazel Deck.

Gilbert started driving truck at the age of 16 for the family coal business in Woodhull, NY. Followed by moving to Rushford, NY in 1957, to continue driving for the Keystone Trucking Company and was known as the best diesel mechanic in the area. From there, he went to Airco Industries. The end of his driving history was done at WW Trucking in Florida. He finished up his life living with his son Langdon in Easton, PA. From there, he moved to his daughter Marceia's in Virginia, and then onto Rushford, NY which he considered his home, and was with his daughter Karen, until going into the nursing home.

No prior visitation. Interment private. Burial will take place in Rushford Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
