So sorry I could not attend tonight, I had a family obligation  and I could not be with the family. I certainly loved and respected Jim and loved him as a special friend  and coach and colleague. He will be missed and fondly remembered. With love, Carl Kuras 

I never had the privilege of really knowing uncle Jim, the way most of you did. But what I do remember about him, is that I always thought that he was  “the cool” Uncle. He was always calm, and relaxed, unlike all of the brothers, who all had such crazy personalities! I can just imagine what he thought of our family! He was always so sweet with Aunt Jo, and since she was my favorite aunt, that gave him extra CRED! I understand that he had a great influence on many people, in his role as coach. That doesn’t surprise me now. I will always have fond memories of all of our family get together‘s, and feel a great loss for another stellar individual, that was a part of my upbringing. 

Aunt Joan, Tom, Nancy, Patrick and family we are so sorry for your loss.  I remember visiting you all when I was a kid and going to Bills Games in the mid-1980s.  Uncle Jim was quite a character and such a kind and caring man.  We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I can't even begin to express my sympathy in words. Some of my best memories as a child were spent with your Family and mine! It always felt like another second home to me, and as I grew older your parents still welcomed us every time we came to visit the Buffalo zoo. Your Father took the time to throw the baseball around with Zach, and make him feel special. The friendship and love our parents had transferred to all of us.  I spoke with your Dad only 2 weeks prior and we where excited to plan a trip to see each other again, I am comforted to know he is with my Mom and Dad reminiscing and keeping a watchful eye on us all. Mr Roward was a friend to my father and was always quick with a smile.  I was lucky to have known him.

He made me what I am. I thought that he was a fool. But he wasn't. He seen more of me than I ever could of at that age. I am so proud that he was MY TEACHER. And I am a nurse because of him.
I am truly sorry for his family. Strength and prayers.

Mr. Roward, definitely one of my fav teachers. He always called me,”Goodie Two Shoes!” A title  I embarrassed bc he gave it to me. May God rest his precious soul and comfort his family during their grief.

He was one of my favorite teachers.  Always looked forward to his class.  He lived near me in Kenville Apts.  for awhile.

Donna and I are very saddened to hear the news of Jim's passing.  Jim was a longtime good friend and colleague.  We shared many a memorable moment over the years, most ending in hilarious laughter.   We will always have those memories to bring a smile to our faces.  May you Rest in Peace Jim.

I was the first coach of the female basketball team and with Title IX, we  had a right to the “ big” gym.  Not one of the men were used to sharing. However, graciously Jim accepted the new normal and we worked out a schedule.  He was always very polite and kind to me. Rest In Peace Coach. 

Growing up next to the Rowards was the best thing a kid could hope for! We had 3 kids in our family and so did they. I always felt welcomed in their home and back yard. Nancy was my first best friend and I’ve never forgotten her kindness or that of her parents. Sending my deepest condolences to this wonderful family. RIP Jim.  We were next door neighbors on Cleveland Drive in Cheektowaga for several years.  Our three children & their three children shared many play dates together!  I have fond memories of us being suburban neighbors.  My sincere condolences to all.  Diane Nowak Abel
