Michael J. Headley

Michael “Mike” J. Headley passed away on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mike was the devoted and loving husband of Kathleen “Katie” Headley, and a proud father to Alex Headley (Allie Spicer). He was a beloved son of John and Rose Headley, dear brother to Cathy Dobson (Mark), and a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by his childhood friends Jimmy Reinard and Andy Davidson, along with countless others whose lives he touched. Mike worked as a correctional officer for many years before moving to Florida with his wife and son. He was done with the Buffalo winters and wanted to enjoy life in the sun. Roatán, Honduras also held a special place in his heart, where he found not just a home, but an island family he deeply loved. Anyone who had the pleasure to know Mike loved him. He was a true friend to everyone he met—quick with a laugh, always ready to lend a hand, and pretty handy around the house. Everyone knew how devoted he was to his pets, but he had a love for all animals, so much so that his friends nicknamed him Dr. Doolittle. At times, he was a kid himself, embracing life with a playful spirit usually resulting in him getting hurt, a great sense of humor, and an appreciation for the simple joys. Rooms were always full of laughter when he was around, often sparked by that smile he gave you to let you know he was up to something. Mike lived life to the fullest, surrounded by laughter, friendship, and love. His kindness, and easygoing nature will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mike’s life on Sunday February 1, 2026 from 1-5pm at the Lake Erie Beach Volunteer Fire Hall 9483 Lakeshore Road Angola, NY.
