Rod was a wonderful , kind , caring and fun person. We had so much fun on the golf course and at dinner gatherings!

Uncle Rod, Richie  is going to meet you at Heaven’s Gate to play you a beautiful song on his guitar to welcome you to your new home. I am very honored and very proud that you took me under your wing and helped me become a better golfer. But most importantly you helped  me become a better MAN . For 10 years I listen to your advice and wisdom about life and family as we played golf together . You and aunt Gene always greeted me with a smile and hospitality when I came to Florida to stay with you. I still remember the smile you would give me every time I said Uncle Rod your favorite nephews here . So blessed to be loved by you and and Gene. Rest In Peace 

 in my life. His quiet strength, kindness and the sound of his gentle laughter will forever be tied to the most important events in my life. 

I took it this for granted, that everyone had such large and close families. And setting a table for 20 was normal. 

It wasn't until I had the boys that I truly appreciated how lucky I was. By that time Kaylie, Hannah and Dominic had already been born and laps filled up quickly and babies weren't quite so cute any more. When I looked back through my photos to find pictures of Grandpa to include today, almost every photo from these early days Grandpa had one of them on his lap. Not just my own but all of ours. 

Grandpa loved his great grandchildren and we'll always carry these memories. From our trips to visit them in Florida, blueberry picking and baseball games. He was as proud and awestruck of Kaylie's achievements and I am and when my kitchen chairs broke, not only did he take them home to his workshop, he took Ryan as well to teach him how to fix them next time. He took Tyler to see a baseball game at the Yankees practice stadium, razzing him the following year when the Red Sox won the World Series. 

As I've watched my grandparents together as we've all gotten older, I can't help but hope to find the type of love these two share. He was the sous chef to her chef, her steady hand on rough terrain and to the best of my knowledge the only person in the world who could contradict her, and then only on rare occasions. 

Grandpa was one of a kind. He exemplified everything I want my own boys to grow up to be: kind, generous, brave and loyal.  I count myself lucky that he had thirteen years to rub off on them and he's left behind so much of his influence in my father and uncle Rod who continue that legacy; because in this case, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Between my grandfather and father, I couldn't ask for better role models. 

Rest in Peace Uncle Rod. I always enjoyed my time spent with you. I know my father did also as you two became golfing buds more recently in life. Our family reunions were such a great time growing up and Uncle Rod and Aunt Jean were always a big part of them! As the shy introverted young kid I was I couldn't remember half of my relatives names back then but Uncle Rod and Aunt Jean were not in that group. One specific time I remember, although the location eludes me right now, was the time Aunt Jean wanted a hug and I tried to run away laughing like a little kid would do. As I turned to run Uncle Rod, without leaving his lawn chair reached out and got me by the waist of my pants and swung me right back around. Before I knew it, he had swung me around and ran me right into Aunt Jeans big hug! Everyone started laughing including me. I was shocked that as fast as I turned to run from Aunt Jeans hug, I was suddenly locked in it because of Uncle Rod. I wouldn't run from one of those hugs today. I would run to them. Looking back there wasn't enough of them. Thank you Uncle Rod, for everything. Say hi to Richie and everyone up in Heaven. Until we all meet again.  Love you, from all of the Frasier's. 

I want to extend my condolences to Mr. Bennett's family. As Marty's brother-in-law I had met his father numerous times over the years for family celebrations and other gatherings. It was clear that he took great delight in his family and they in turn loved having him around. It's truly a blessing that they had him in their lives for so many years.

RIP, Mr. Bennett.

Rod and I began a wonderful friendship while golfing together 30 years ago at the East Aurora Country Club. I also enjoyed his assistance when I built the new bathroom facility on the golf course. My wife Julie and I shared several vacations with Rod and Jean and also were grateful to participate in the "Over The Hill" golf group with them. Rod and I continued  golfing weekly  for the past several years; he was a wonderful addition to our group.  Even though he did not favor the Yankees, we shared many enjoyable memories together. He was a pleasure to be with and a true friend: I will miss him!

So very sorry to hear about Rod.  Steve and I were just looking at Over the Hill golf outings.  We had such wonderful times.  We enjoyed Rod’s company.  He was quite the gentleman and golfer.  Rest In Peace good friend.


I lived across the street from Mr Bennett and grew up with Marty and Rod. Later when I moved away and came home to visit my family I would always make a point to say hello to him and get caught up on things related to him, Mrs. Bennett, Rod and Marty. He was always cordial, caring and happy. Truly a gentleman. I sure miss those days and will always cherish the memories. Condolences to the family.  May he Rest In Peace. 

Rod and I met through our enjoyment for golf.  Rod was always a true gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor. Somehow he always managed to win the prize money through his accurate drives and deadly putting strokes. He also took the good natured ribbing that went along with it. I never met a man who was able to shoot his age as often as Rod did, yet Rod was a bit shy about sharing that information.
We will miss Rod a lot. He was a very good friend.
