It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Salvatore Sciolino (81), an immigrant from Aliminusa, Sicily in June of 1954, who resided in Buffalo, NY until March 2003. Sal AKA Sam, passed away at home in Palm Coast, FL on June 3, 2026 after a long courageous 5 year battle with cancer. His strength, dignity and humbling grace was inspirational to many.
Beloved husband of Cheryl (nee Jarosz) and the late Dorothy (nee Lowe); cherished Father of Annette (Mike) Sciolino-Talerico, Denise and Salvatore Jr.; Step-father of Michelle Bochynski, Sean (Katie) Burns and Katie Burns; dearest Brother of Philip (Gabriella), Joseph, Anthony (late Bessie), Mary (late Salvatore) Ricotta, Charles (late Angelina) and the late Thomas and his wife Georgia; adored by 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, many Nieces, Nephews and his sweet dog Miss Prissy.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 from 10 AM-1 PM. Visitation begins at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Service promptly at 12 noon - HOY FUNERAL HOME, 3855 Seneca St., West Seneca. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
