Flattery, Sr., Walter J. of Buffalo, NY entered into rest January 25, 2025; beloved husband of the late Joy (nee Stotz) Flattery; devoted father of Patrice (John) Ferraro and Walter J. (Debbie Winkowski) Flattery, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Jessica Rose Ferraro, Madelynn Flattery, Luke John Flattery, Adam Musior and the late Christopher John Ferraro; great grandfather of Clara Joy Chapman; dear brother of Joan (late Jack) Connors, Joyce (late Chuck) Bastian, late Jean (late Robert) Bauman, late Ann Bauman, late Jane (late Thomas) Johnston, late George R. (late Jean) Flattery Jr., late William (late Joan) Flattery, late Janet (late John) Bullock, late Gary Bastian, and late Bernie (Sandra) Flattery; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit HOY FUNERAL HOME, 3855 Seneca St., West Seneca, NY Thursday January 30th from 3 – 8PM where Army funeral honors will be presented at 7PM. A funeral service will be held Friday January 31st at 10:30 AM in St. Simon’s Episcopal Church, 200 Cazenovia St. Buffalo, NY. Walter enjoyed a lifelong career with Conrail as a railroad engineer. He was also involved as a longtime member of the Java Heights Association, St. Simon's Church and the Carriager's of West Seneca. In lieu of flowers please donate in Walter’s memory to the Flattery Family Playground project at Java Heights.
