

Our sweet Afton Lothiel Yingling, loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend, age 78, passed away on January 16, 2018 in Murray, Utah. She was born April 1, 1939 in Provo, Utah to George Raymond Mayberry and Estella Lothiel Mayberry. She graduated from Provo High School. She married Billy Alvin Yingling in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1957.
Afton was very dedicated to her loving husband Billy of 60 years. She was a wonderful example of patience, love and kindness to their eight children. She was a caring, sweet grandma to 41 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. She adored all the little children. Afton had a wonderful sense of humor, and lit up the room with her contagious laugh. She had a very playful personality, especially when she was teasing her Billy. She was born on April Fool’s Day, and loved to play fun jokes and tricks to keep everyone laughing. Afton was a very talented Seamstress as well. She was very wise and a lover of learning. She loved the Lord and was faithful and devoted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Afton is survived by her husband, Billy Alvin Yingling; children, Marie Johnson (Bruce), Kirt Yingling (Joyce), Carie Bybee (Roy), Rocky Yingling (Tami), Eli Yingling (Amy), Johnie Yingling (Amy), Ruth Campos (Alberto), Jarimy Yingling (Sara); sister, Leona Clark; 40 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Estella Mayberry; sisters, Maurine and Naomi; and granddaughter, Hannah Yingling.
Funeral services will be held on January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the River 2nd Ward, 1540 West 10400 South, South Jordan, Utah. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the ward and one hour prior to the services.
