It is with tremendous sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Nana V, Angeles N. Valenzuela, affectionately known as “Angelina,” who courageously crossed over on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by her daughters, granddaughter and extended family son.

Angeles was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Neira Rodriguez; her mother, Josefa Morales Rodriguez; her beloved son-in-law, Ernie Jimenez, husband of Betty; and her brother-in-law, Manolo Carrion, husband of Isabel.

She is survived by her daughters, Monica A Mendez (Alfonso) and Betty Jimenez; her beloved granddaughter, Abbagaile “Abby” Jimenez-Colbert; and her sisters, Isabel Carrion, and her sons, Manuelito and Jose Mari; Delphina Nieves (Wilberto), and their sons, Wilberto and Jose Manuel; and Rocio Neira, and her children, Raul Neira Rodriguez, and Rocio Neira Rodriguez.

Although Angeles left her family in Spain many years ago to build a life in the United States, she remained deeply connected to them while creating a beautiful extended family here. She shared a lifelong bond with Irene and Ray Robles and their children, Dina Valadez (Rene), Rey (Diana), Danny (Veronica), and Michael (Blanca).

She also lovingly embraced Letty and Ramon Gutierrez and their children, Marc Anthony and Victoria, who were the first to make her “Nana V,” as well as John “Johnny” (Nick) McGill and their children, Asher and Aspen. To Angeles, family was never defined by blood alone. If she loved you, you were family.

Being our Mama and Nana V was one of the greatest joys of her life. She embraced it with her whole heart, and the love she had for Marc Anthony, Victoria, Abby, and Asher and Aspen was immeasurable. Though Asher and Aspen were still young, she had treasured moments with birthdays, holidays and family gatherings, each becoming part of the family she loved so dearly.

Our dear mama will be remembered for her strength, resilience, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry her love with them.

We will miss you more than words can express, Mama. You were deeply loved and will forever be our Mama, our Nana V, and the heart of our family.

A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Angeles N. Valenzuela will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at:
