She was the oldest of 3 children. On June 23, 1967, she married the love of her life David Cook in the Salt Lake Temple. They married not just for time, but for eternity. They had 2 daughters that completed their dreams of family.
Barbara was a wonderful wife and mother. She gave her heart to her husband and daughters. She taught them how to be strong when life got hard; how to endure when you wanted to give up. After the passing of her love David, Barbara took a chance on love with Earl Stratton; and although their love was tested by cancer, she stood by his side until it was his time to graduate into the next life. Meeting and loving Earl led Barbara to Larry Baker. Larry would be her love for the remainder of her life. Larry and Barbara were married after a short but sweet and romantic courtship in the Jordan River Temple. They were married for time on March 28, 1998. Marrying Larry completed her dreams of a bigger family; Larry came with 2 sons Rick and David. Larry and Barbara loved deeply and taught strong values of faith and family. Larry graduated into the next life ahead of her leaving Barbara with sons and a wonderful family.
Barbara loved to dance, spend time with her friends at the senior center, and at church. She had unwavering faith and a testimony that always held strong. She made us laugh and held us when we cried; we will miss her always.
Her family would like to offer their gratitude to Andrew Shupe for his excellent care he has provided to Barbara these last few years; we are truly grateful.
Barbara is survived by her children Mahala (Lyle) Peck, Marcia Cook, David (Leilani) Baker, Richard Baker; her brother Grant (Debbie) Beck, sister Anita (Jim) Nicolet, and 9 grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband’s David Cook, Earl Stratton, and Lawrence Baker, her parents Donald and Eveyln Beck. We believe there is a beautiful reunion of family and love on the other side for our mother.
