Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Barbara Kay Jorgenson, passed away on March 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 20, 1953 to Richard and Ethel Gilbert Williams and later married Charles Jorgenson.
Her home was always open and she was the very essence of the Kool-Aid mom. She was mom to all. Kay had a creative and sharp mind. She loved sewing and created many beautiful dresses and Halloween costumes from scratch. She loved all music and loved to dance. Kay enjoyed playing cards and board games and was always quick to access her inner child, play creative games, and do fun crafts with her young children, and then her grandchildren. Morning coffee and laughter was the way she loved to start each day. She had an amazing sense of humor, sharp wit, and was always quick with a comeback. She never took a wrong turn, but rather considered it a new adventure. She had a deep compassion and love for all of humanity and mother earth. She would often meditate to heal the world of pollution and turmoil. Some of her favorite things are working in the yard, babies, flowers, watching Disney movies with the grandkids, Christmas, Easter, the sound of her husband’s voice, and the color blue. Oh, and did we mention babies! She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Jorgenson; children, Chuck Jorgenson, Sarah Edwards, Rachel Childers, Rebecca Eklund; grandchildren, Chloe, Claire, Nick, Jake, Hailey, Jayden, Alivia, Jay, Ian, Kaylee, Mila, Joe, Dominick, Kaden, and Luke; siblings, Dixie Platt, Karen Burke, Steve Williams, Joe Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Belva Barnes and Jean Wilcox; brother, Richard Williams and niece, Teresa Dwyre
Funeral services for Kay will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, where friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6-8pm and again on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.
