Brian passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 18th of natural causes, possibly related to recent surgery, after shopping at one of his favorite tool and parts store. Brian was born November 20 1960, the sixth of seven offspring, to devoted parents Elna Day and Lester Ross Whittaker. He grew up in West Valley City, graduating from Granger High, marrying later in life Sandra Perry of Vernal in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with two sons, Ross Brian (Fiance Josie) and Jesse Ray. Brian so loved being a father, enjoying many trips and activities with them and Sandy.
From a very young age he was fascinated with machines, electronics, and especially cars and motorcycles, leading to his amazing self taught expertise in repairing or rebuilding nearly anything. He selflessly gave of himself and that mechanical aptitude to many people on many occasions throughout his life, a true legacy of generosity repaid with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
We extol Brian's kindness and delighted in his sense of humor and infectious, raucous laughter. He laughed easily and often at the wit of friends and movie parodies by nephews. His great good nature and generosity set him apart from average folk. Such a man as he cannot be replicated or replaced and so we grieve and miss him greatly.
Brian Whittaker is survived by his wife, sons, parents (mentioned); siblings David (Sherri), Dennis (Connie), Cheryl (Pat Kruger), Lynnette Deluyck, Holly (Fred Marquardson) and Susan (Mike Windley). Uncle Brian leaves behind also niece Josie, nephews Jason, Justin, Jeremy, Joshua, Ben, Curtis, Kevin, and Nathan who all loved him dearly. Lifelong friends Ted Parry and David Adamson share our pain at his loss. Our thanks to them for their kindnesses.
