Calvin C. Campbell passed away on July 23, 2012, peacefully, as he wished at home with his wife Helen, the love of his life, at his side. He was born on February 10, 1928 to George and Maggie Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen D. Campbell; son, Steven G. Campbell (Tamera); daughter, Pamela A. Giron (Danny); sister, Daisy Hugill, of Lakewood, WA; three grandchildren, Adam Campbell, Brian Campbell (Jenny), James Albright (Susie), and eight great grandchildren, Skylar, Dylan, Makenzie, Tyler, Callum, Lacey, Bohdi and Kaley; also seven step grandchildren and fifteen step great-grandchildren. He was a Patriot who believed in serving God and Country. He served America during WWII in the Army. Then worked at Tooele Army Depot and retired after 35 years. He was a Mason for 50 years and was a member and Past Master of Christopher Diehl Lodge #19; also held a 32nd degree in the A. & A. Scottish Rite. He was involved with the youth groups, Demolay and Job’s Daughters.
He loved to fish and camp, and after he retired he became interested in wood work and made many beautiful things. He took on many projects around his home and yard. He was a jack of all trades, and became a master at whatever he did. He was a great husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He was our “Rock”, provider, protector, mentor and best friend. He will be sorely missed by all of us.
As per his wishes there will be no viewing, and the family will receive condolences at a small Memorial Service to honor and celebrate his life. Services will be held on Monday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. for family and close friends located at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
